KMG International Scholarships Program 2019



September 16 – October 20: Submission of applications
October 21 – October 30: Jury analysis
15th of November: Announcement of the 100 scholarships (50 grants call and 50 from the internship pool)
November – December: Reception of scholarships in full value


High school and university students from Prahova, Constanta and Bucharest, currently enrolled in the following specialties, are invited to submit their application for the scholarship call:

High school level: chemistry, mechanics, electricity, automatization.
University level: chemistry, mechanical and electrical engineering, power engineering, oil & gas specialties (petroleum and gas engineering, petroleum technology and petrochemistry, petroleum processing and petrochemistry), constructions.


As we aim to select performance-driven individuals, our evaluation process will be based on academic results, as well as motivation and non-academic activities (as described in the motivation essay).

    ✓ Highly motivated, fast learner and enthusiastic individuals
    ✓ Involvement in extra-curricular/volunteering activities is considered a plus

Cristian Bolohan serves as Process Engineering Director at KMG International. He has over 15 years of experience within the Group. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree and obtained a master in Management of Crude Oil and Gas from University Ovidius Constanta.


Tiberiu Dumitrașcu holds the role of Maintenance Manager within Rominserv, member of KMG International Group, and has a professional experience of over 30 years. Our colleague has graduated from the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești and holds a Masters Degree in Management of Economic Systems, Tourism and Administration.


Costinela Drăgan is Sustainability Manager at KMG International. She has over 10 years of experience in sustainability and communication. She is the President of United Nations Global Compact Romania, a UN initiative encouraging businesses to adopt socially responsible and sustainable policies. She is also a honorary board member of Hospices of Hope.


Daniela Popovici is a Professor and the Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum Technology and Petrochemicals within Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești (UPG). She has 27 years of teaching and research professional experience at UPG and holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Daniela Popivici is the President of Romanian Chemical Society in Prahova.


Nicoleta Mihăiță is Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding Manager within KMG International and has 14 years of experience in the human resources field. For 10 years she has been part of Rompetrol team and the projects that bring her the greatest professional accomplishments are those related to developing and preparing the young generation for a career in the energy industry.


Anca Sterpu is a Lecturer at Ovidius University Constanta, Faculty of Physics, Chemistry, Electronics and Petroleum Technology. She served as former dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Engineering, part of Ovidius University, between 2012 and 2016. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience.
